01. DETAILS

We are teaching the kids to become leaders while promoting a healthy lifestyle through Jiu-Jitsu. Our goal is to reinforce essential life skills, including confidence, focus, discipline, courtesy, and respect, through a series of classroom instruction and practical drills.

Students in our youth program will expand on their fundamentals, learn a multitude of offensive and defensive strategies, and begin to apply both concepts and theories to their Jiu-Jitsu. This class will involve more mature content that is both age- and skill-level appropriate.

Note: New teens (with no experience) aged 13 and older will need to start in our adult Essentials classes. The kids in our Juniors 2 program have significant experience, or they have moved from another academy with prior knowledge.

02. CURRICULUM

  • Learn how to apply submission holds and joint locks responsibly
  • Learn how to chain offensive and defensive techniques
  • Learn how to safely take someone down and out maneuver them
  • Learn how to properly escape pins and holds
  • Learn how to apply concepts and theory to Jiu-Jitsu
  • Participate in functional drilling and live grappling
  • Discuss various types of bullying and how to become less of a target
  • Lay the building blocks for becoming a leader, not a follower
